Blogging for Traffic: Are You Using This Trick When Commenting On Your Own Blogs?

October 28th, 2008 · 11 Comments · Other Topics

A secret group of bloggers have quietly been working with me on discovering ways to get more targeted traffic to our blogs. Now I am ready to go public with this cool trick.

It only works if you own more than one niche-related blogs.

Three words of caution:

1. not using this traffic getting strategy means you’ll get less traffic than you’re currently receiving…

2. pro bloggers are using it, why should you be left alone?

3. plus, not using it wisely could do you more harm than good!

Can you really afford not to at least try what I have to share with you next?

You are commenting on your own blog when replying to other comments, right? So this requires you change one little thing in your Word Press control panel.

Go to Users tab, then –> “Your Profile” — I use the self-hosted, one-click WP install version with DreamHost, the best blog host!

In the “Nickname” field you’d write your name along with a long-tail keyword you’d want to rank high in Google for…

I use Codrut Turcanu I Blogging for Profits and I update my profile.

Afterwards I select the same profile when “Display name publicly as”

In the “Contact info” I have my e-mail and a link back to Lazy Blogging.

Whenever I comment on Codrut Turcanu dot com or Remarkable Blogging I get more back-link love, thus increasing the chances to rank higher in Google, and other engines for key terms targetting my other blog Lazy Blogging dot com.

I use the same procedure when commenting on other people’s blogs too :)

Now it’s your turn to try this (just in case you haven’t done it by now) and tell me what you think about it.

I’m ready to hear your opinion… start commenting on this post right away!

The bad thing is that most bloggers just leave “admin” as their name and it’s a shame they’re not using this cool trick to get their real name out there and attract more targeted traffic to their niche-related blogs.

What about you?

#Hayden Dell Online Marketer for Dentists and Doctors: yeah, just be aware:

Not all bloggers would like to get their blog “spammed” with key terms in the “name” field.

The only place that’s 100% guaranteed is on your own blogs! :)

Well, one thing is for sure, I don’t use Admin. But then, I’m awkward to use my blog name Father Blogger. People might think I am a priest because they call me Father.

    How about that?

You’re right, changing the admin name to one that is targeted towards the niche or keywords you want to rank for definitely does help. Thanks for sharing that tip!

I`m doing well with comments on other blogs. The traffic seems to be targeted to the product I promote.
